I've mistype just PR and it erased my prompt, you might of accidently hit something that typed it?

Did you type map twice?

check your alias list and triggers and macros etc. There may be a typo that is causing you to type 'prompt' all alone. Doing that removes your prompt. Typing it again brings it back. If an alias/trigger/or macro hits it for you, this could explain the randomness of it coming and going.

If it was an alias or accidental turning off of the prompt, typing prompt again would bring it back wouldn't it? I tried changing my prompt and turning it off and back on again when it was gone, and neither fixed it. No I leave the map on always, and hadn't thought to change it. If it happens again I shall try that thanks Xero.

It did reappear shortly after this post and hadn't a chance to report that until now.. What finally did it was killing a mob.. The instant the mob died my prompt re-appeared and I was visible in 'group' again.

One other thing ... are you using zmud? I was having a problem with zmud where I could not see my xkizmet or xxkizmetxx name anytime it was used. I did not show up on the wholist, I did not show up when my name was typed into chats. Anyline that had one of those names in it was deleted from view. I never figured out why or how. I deleted the connection in zmud for everwar, and started fresh, and then all the x's worked just fine. It was the weirdest thing.

Not saying it's related, but zmud has so many weird settings you never know!

Kizmet, you managed to setup a trigger that removed any line with your name in it from view. There are several accidental ways to do this, and the trigger may be in the hidden system triggers folder.

As for phade....that's messed up, although I have not heard of anyone else with this problem so I would guess also that is something with your client and not the mud unless some other people start having the same issue.

I remember something about this a long time ago. Basically, I managed to set my prompt to just a blank space. Turning prompt on and off didn't change anything because there really wasn't a prompt.

The prompt isan't being changed, since changing the prompt (prompt a b c d e f dosen't matter, none of them work), turning it on and off and any other variation there of does nothing to return it.

The prompt vanishes on mob death, and reappears on next mob death like clockwork every time. This happens to me on a regular basis while solo questing.

It's also not my client.. (Zmud) I tried re logging via straight windows telnet and my prompt was still absent, and I tried turning it on off and changing prompts and nothing until I killed a mob.

Edit, fleeing from a mob also fixes it.

Several of the map options change where you prompt is on your screen. This coupled with your page length setting may be forcing your prompt off your screen at certain times. If I happen to actually turn the map on it does funny things to my prompt when mobs die as well. Even with the map turned off I have to make sure that "drawtop" is off or it floats my prompt funny.

I'll say this again though. If this were a mud issue then you wouldn't be the only one experiencing it. It is still most likely a YOU issue. Having something to do with your client or your settings or a combination of both.

Similar thing occurred to me and stopped when I lowered my page length by 1, even though my screen was large enough for the initial setting.
